REALTOR Code of Ethics: Our Promise of Professionalism

This Code of Ethics class was written and branded by NAR in 2023, but it is brought to life in the classroom by Katherine Kirchner. Brokers who take this course will have a unique opportunity to reacquaint themselves with the Preamble and all 17 of the Code’s Articles, while actively engaging with each other and the material. Additionally, the course will delve into the difference between ethics complaints and arbitration cases including the criteria for establishing procuring cause, discuss the value and processes of informal resolution options, and examine case studies related to Articles 1, 2, 12 and 17 of the Code. Katherine Kirchner is the Education Director and lead Instructor at That’s My Instructor, a new North Carolina Real Estate School operating virtually out of Raleigh, North Carolina. Over the course of four decades, Katherine has been a resident of various North Carolina municipalities from Wilmington to Boone, gathering her Master’s degree in secondary education from UNCW, and more than a decade of collective experience teaching in classrooms at the middle, high school and community college levels. Katherine started her journey in Real Estate in Raleigh in 2015, where she was a practicing Broker, until becoming a full time Education Officer for the North Carolina Real Estate Commission. After writing the 12-Hour BIC Course for online delivery, Katherine left the Commission to teach Pre- and Postlicensing classes full time. In July of 2023 Katherine began her own online real estate school and began teaching Continuing Education classes both virtually and live across the state.
